Alzamend Neuro, Inc. • Targeted Brain Structures: The study revealed that different brain regions absorb and retain lithium differently, indicating the potential for treatments to be tailored to target specific brain areas for more precise treatment of brain-related conditions in human studies.

The study involved administering AL001 to 5XFAD mice, a model for Alzheimer’s research, to compare its effects against lithium carbonate. The results suggest that AL001 could offer clinical advantages for conditions like Alzheimer’s, BD, MDD, and PTSD at low doses, potentially reducing the risk of side effects such as thyroid and kidney complications associated with current lithium therapies.
