The acquisition targets Brazil's fast-growing oral dosing, over-the-counter and nutraceutical markets, which are being driven by an expanding population, rising middle class and aging demographic. "Aptar has manufactured in Brazil for 25 years and this acquisition is expected to further reinforce our footprint in the region," explained Gael Touya, President of Aptar Pharma (搜索).
Sommaplast (搜索), founded over 20 years ago, operates from a facility in São Paulo with a team of over 400 employees. The company specializes in manufacturing closures, droppers, dispensers and dosing cups for pharmaceutical applications. The acquisition adds to Aptar's existing Brazilian operations, which include manufacturing facilities in Cajamar, Jundiaí, Maringá and Camaçari.

The combined entity aims to leverage operational synergies and Aptar's precision injection molding expertise to benefit customers. "We plan to further extend Sommaplast (搜索)'s offerings in the oral dosing pharma markets through its strong commercial capabilities and expanded product offering," Touya said.
