Novel Biomarker Shows Promise for Diagnostic Discrimination
Professor Raj Sengupta will present new data demonstrating the use of autoantibodies to 14-3-3eta (搜索) in discriminating between radiographic and non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (搜索) compared to both mechanical back pain (搜索) and healthy controls. The oral presentation, titled "Autoantibodies to 14-3-3 eta: A Novel Diagnostic Biomarker for Axial Spondyloarthritis," is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 3:45-4:00 p.m. Central Time.
Enhanced Performance with Existing Biomarkers
Additional research to be presented shows that the 14-3-3eta (搜索) autoantibody biomarker improves the discriminative performance of established markers C-reactive protein (CRP (搜索)) and HLA-B27 (搜索) when differentiating people with radiographic axSpA from those with mechanical back pain (搜索). This combination approach could provide clinicians with more accurate diagnostic tools.
A third presentation will evaluate the diagnostic utility of 14-3-3eta (搜索) autoantibodies using a multiplex assay approach, further exploring the biomarker's clinical applications in axial spondyloarthritis (搜索) diagnosis.
