The 30 billion won ($19.53 million) multi-ministerial program, announced Friday, represents a seven-year commitment to establishing the country as a leader in next-generation molecular diagnostics.
The consortium assembled for this initiative spans 15 institutions, including six companies, two state-backed research institutes, and seven university hospitals. Alongside BioTNS (搜索), participating companies include Gencurix (搜索), Hanil Scientific (搜索), JNP Medi (搜索), and Omicsyn (搜索), while GC Labs (搜索) will support clinical validation and commercialization efforts. The National NanoFab Center and the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology will provide technology support, and seven hospitals — including Catholic University Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, Severance Hospital, and Asan Medical Center — will conduct clinical trials and efficacy evaluations.
Overcoming Limitations of Legacy Molecular Testing
The government program is designed to address the core limitations of legacy molecular testing methods and build critical infrastructure for ultra-precision medicine based on domestic technologies. By establishing technical standards for dPCR, South Korea aims to secure global leadership in a field increasingly central to personalized therapeutic decision-making.

The company is also expanding its pipeline into brain tumors (搜索), neurodegenerative diseases (搜索), and cardiovascular conditions (搜索), signaling a broad ambition beyond oncology.
