David Wazer, Professor and Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Brown University Health (搜索), described brachytherapy (搜索) as "one of oncology's most elegant yet underappreciated treatment modalities," emphasizing that it has embodied the principle of precision medicine by "delivering exceptionally high radiation doses directly to the tumor while sparing surrounding healthy tissue."
The clinical value of brachytherapy (搜索) is well-established across multiple tumor types. In prostate, gynecologic, breast, and select head and neck cancers, the approach consistently achieves outstanding local control, excellent functional outcomes, and, in many settings, improved survival.
