BRAIN.Q Achieves CE Mark for Breakthrough Therapy in Reducing Post-Stroke Disability
BRAIN.Q has announced the granting of the CE mark for its BQ 2.0 system, designed to reduce disability following an ischaemic stroke. This regulatory approval signifies the first therapy to demonstrate a reduction in global disability beyond the acute time window, which is the first 12 hours after a stroke. The BQ 2.0 system utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) to provide non-invasive, network-targeting electromagnetic precision therapy, aimed at accelerating and enhancing the brain's recovery from stroke. It is delivered via a cloud-based platform, facilitating its use in both hospital and home settings.
Yotam Drechsler, CEO and co-founder of BRAIN.Q, highlighted the advancements in AI learning systems over the past two decades, which have been leveraged to design a precision therapy that aids the brain in relearning and recovering post-stroke. This development is a significant step towards the company's goal of restoring brain health and improving the quality of life for stroke survivors.
Additionally, BRAIN.Q has appointed Stacey Pugh as the chair of its board. Pugh, a seasoned leader in the stroke space with a background in leading Medtronic’s neurovascular business, has been a dedicated member of BRAIN.Q’s board for the past three years. She expressed enthusiasm about her new role and the potential of BRAIN.Q’s therapeutic approach to advance brain recovery and impact long-term outcomes for stroke survivors, aiming to return them to independence.
