Cellares (搜索), the world's first Integrated Development and Manufacturing Organization (IDMO), has made two strategic leadership appointments to accelerate its global expansion and prepare for a future IPO. The company appointed Ali Soleymannezhad as Chief Commercial Officer and Christopher McDonald to its Advisory Board, bringing decades of combined experience in cell therapy manufacturing and commercialization.
Commercial Leadership to Drive Global Expansion
Soleymannezhad joins Cellares (搜索) from MaxCyte (搜索) (NASDAQ: MXCT), where he served as Chief Commercial Officer, leading commercial strategy across sales, business development, marketing, and field applications. His appointment comes as Cellares prepares to support multiple clinical trials in 2026 and follows five global manufacturing agreements with partners including Bristol Myers Squibb (搜索), Kite (搜索), and leading academic institutions.

At MaxCyte (搜索), Soleymannezhad expanded adoption across the United States, Europe, and Asia while securing enterprise agreements with leading biopharmaceutical companies. Previously, at Tosoh Bioscience (搜索), he directed global strategy and P&L, securing multi-year supply agreements that embedded the company's technologies into critical bioprocessing workflows.
Advisory Board Strengthened with Manufacturing Expertise
McDonald's appointment to the Advisory Board brings 35 years of operations experience, including his most recent role as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Technical Operations at Kite (搜索), a Gilead Company. At Kite, he oversaw Global Manufacturing, Global Quality, Process Development, and Global Supply Chain across six worldwide sites and more than 3,000 employees, supporting viral vector, clinical, and commercial cell therapy operations.

Addressing Manufacturing Capacity Barriers
The appointments address critical challenges in cell therapy manufacturing, where capacity and cost-efficiency remain primary barriers preventing patient access to curative therapies. Most approved cell therapies today are personalized cancer (搜索) treatments produced one patient dose at a time, with sponsors relying on manual workflows in region-specific cleanrooms.
Cellares (搜索) offers a unified alternative through its IDMO Smart Factory network. The company's Cell Shuttle is the first end-to-end cell therapy manufacturing platform to receive the FDA's Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) designation, providing expedited review and regulatory support for developers leveraging Cellares' services.
Technology Platform and Global Expansion
Cellares (搜索)' IDMO platform combines the proprietary Cell Shuttle (end-to-end automated cell therapy manufacturing) and Cell Q (high-throughput automated quality control) with a rapidly expanding global network of IDMO Smart Factories. This model delivers greater scalability at significantly lower cost than conventional CDMOs, enabling each Smart Factory to produce 10 times as many cell therapy batches as conventional facilities with the same size and headcount.
The company has automated more than half a dozen manual processes on the Cell Shuttle with a 100% automation success rate. This performance underpins the Biotech Incentive Program, through which Cellares (搜索) funds and executes process automation while assuming upfront technical risk.
