ChemE Show 2026 opens June 9-10 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, marking the inaugural convergence of pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and energy transition industries. The event, produced by Gulf Energy Information (搜索) and powered by ACHEMA (搜索), brings together engineers, plant managers, R&D teams, and technical decision-makers from across the chemicals, pharmaceutical and biopharma sectors.
Industry Leaders Address Manufacturing Convergence
Senior leaders from major pharmaceutical companies including Eli Lilly and Johnson & Johnson will headline the two-day program alongside representatives from ExxonMobil (搜索), Deloitte, Linde, Worley, Fluor, and Alvarez and Marsal. The program specifically addresses the convergence of petrochemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, reflecting the industry's recognition that traditional sector boundaries are becoming increasingly blurred.
"ChemE Show was built on the recognition that the challenges facing chemical engineers today don't respect sector boundaries. Decarbonization, digital transformation, and the convergence of petrochemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing are reshaping every corner of the industry, and this program reflects that," said Catherine Watkins, VP Downstream at Gulf Energy Information (搜索).
Technology Focus Areas
The conference program features keynote addresses and panels covering critical areas for pharmaceutical manufacturing, including:
- Decarbonizing chemical manufacturing processes
- AI and digital twins in plant operations
- Circular chemistry and bio-based materials development
- Mega-project execution strategies
- Pharmaceutical and biopharma manufacturing innovations
Concurrent Innovation Theater sessions will specifically address pharmaceutical and biopharma manufacturing alongside petrochemicals and process engineering, hydrogen and green chemistry, and lab and agrichemical science.
Exhibition and Technology Showcase
More than 100 exhibitors will occupy the show floor, spanning automation and instrumentation, process equipment, specialty chemicals, fluid handling, separation technologies, and technical services. Key exhibiting companies include ABB (搜索), Air Products, ANDRITZ, Atlas Copco Gas and Process, Endress+Hauser, Flowserve (搜索), Lummus Technology, Pepperl+Fuchs, SPX Flow, and Sulzer.
The exhibition provides pharmaceutical R&D teams and technical decision-makers with direct access to evaluate technologies relevant to capital projects, plant operations, and performance improvement initiatives. The focus on separation technologies and process equipment particularly addresses critical needs in pharmaceutical manufacturing and biopharma production.
