"Based on all the evidence so far, the food that made people sick was served at other restaurants as well," said Carlota Medus, senior epidemiologist supervisor in the Minnesota Department of Health (搜索)'s Foodborne Diseases Unit.
Medus said Chipotle had been cooperative over the course of the investigation and that, given the measures the company put in place, his department was not concerned about the chain at this time. Still, he said it was "too soon for us to know if the outbreak is ongoing" and that it is possible contaminated food is being served elsewhere.
Federal Traceback Efforts

In a statement, Chipotle maintained that the "health and safety of our guests and employees is our highest priority." The company said that, as part of its established health and safety protocols, upon learning of a potential outbreak it immediately initiated its ingredient traceability system and was able to identify jalapeños as a potential common ingredient from a common lot, as well as the restaurants where it was distributed.
The Minnesota Department of Health (搜索) confirmed it has no ongoing concerns with Chipotle, and the company stated it is cooperating with public health authorities in their efforts.
