核心洞察
Cornerstone Robotics (搜索) will present at the 2nd Global Health Summit (GHS 2026) in Hong Kong on August 7–8, 2026, with CEO Professor Samuel Au delivering a keynote on the future of robotic surgery.
The flagship Sentire Endoscopic Surgical System (搜索) has received marketing approval from China's NMPA, CE MDR certification in the EU, and HSA clearance in Singapore, with clinical deployment across Asia-Pacific and Europe.
Professor Au's address will explore how accessibility, connectivity, and physical AI can transform surgical robots from precision tools into intelligent collaborative partners in the operating theatre.
Cornerstone Robotics (搜索), a Hong Kong-based surgical robotics company, has announced that its Founder and CEO Professor Samuel Au will deliver a keynote address at the 2nd Global Health Summit (GHS 2026), taking place August 7–8, 2026 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The presentation, titled "The Future of Surgery: Accessibility, Connectivity, and Physical AI in Robotic Surgery," is scheduled for August 7 between 12:45 and 15:05 HKT and will examine the frontier trends shaping the next era of surgical robotics.
The summit, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited (搜索) (HKIC) and New Frontier under the theme "Exponential Leap – From Breakthrough Discovery to Global Impact," is expected to bring together more than 1,000 healthcare innovators, investors, and policymakers from around the world.
Sentire System Gains Multi-Market Regulatory Approvals
Central to Professor Au's keynote will be the company's flagship Sentire Endoscopic Surgical System (搜索), which has achieved a series of international regulatory milestones. The system received marketing approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and, during the first half of 2026, further obtained certification under the European Union Medical Device Regulation (CE MDR) as well as clearance from the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) of Singapore.
The Sentire system has since been deployed in clinical practice at leading hospitals across Asia-Pacific and Europe. According to the company, these regulatory approvals demonstrate that the system's product capabilities have gained authoritative recognition in major international markets. Developed entirely in-house, the Sentire surgical system has completed multi-specialty clinical trials and has received market approval in multiple countries and regions, including China, the European Union, and Singapore.
A Vision for Intelligent Collaborative Surgery
Professor Au's address will explore how enhancing technology accessibility, enabling seamless system connectivity, and integrating digital technology can drive the evolution of surgical robots beyond precision tools into intelligent collaborative partners. The presentation will examine advances in perception, learning capabilities, and artificial intelligence as key drivers of this transformation.
"With the rapid advancement of robotics, digital health and artificial intelligence, the future of surgical robotics is entering a new phase – one that goes beyond greater precision to embrace greater accessibility, seamless connectivity and increasingly intelligent systems with advanced perception and learning capabilities," Professor Au said. "These capabilities will transform robots from instruments of execution into intelligent collaborative partners, driving a fundamental shift in how surgery is performed."
He further emphasized the company's commitment to "innovation-driven development and deepening our global presence," adding that Cornerstone Robotics (搜索) looks forward to "working alongside innovators, clinicians and investors worldwide to shape the future of intelligent surgery, bringing accessible surgical robotic solutions to patients in need around the world."
Company Infrastructure and Global Footprint
Cornerstone Robotics (搜索) was established and incubated in Hong Kong and operates three global R&D hubs and six business centres worldwide. The company has built a 30,000-square-metre manufacturing facility in China. The Sentire system was developed through full-stack in-house R&D capabilities and deep vertical integration.
About the Summit Organisers
HKIC was established in 2022 as a patient capital institution wholly owned by the Hong Kong SAR Government. It adopts an "Investment +" approach, seeking reasonable financial return in the medium to long term while supporting growth in Hong Kong's economy. The organisation currently manages the Hong Kong Growth Portfolio, Greater Bay Area Fund, Strategic Tech Fund, and Co-Investment Fund, focusing on three sectors: hard and core technology; biotechnology and health technology; and new energy and green technology. To date, HKIC has invested in over 200 projects, with every Hong Kong dollar invested attracting more than eight Hong Kong dollars from long-term capital.
New Frontier Group (搜索), founded in 2016 and headquartered in Hong Kong, is an integrated healthcare and life sciences group spanning six business segments: integrated clinical healthcare, rehabilitation healthcare, home healthcare, health insurance, life sciences, and medical artificial intelligence.
