Finnish health technology company CurifyLabs (搜索) has closed a €12 million ($14 million) Series A funding round to expand its U.S. operations and accelerate the development of its 3D printing-enabled platform for personalised medicine manufacturing. The round was co-led by Sandwater (搜索) and HealthCap (搜索), with participation from Tesi (搜索) (Finnish Industry Investment Ltd.), existing investor Lifeline Ventures (搜索), as well as customers and employees in the United States.
Founded in 2021, CurifyLabs (搜索) has developed a Compounding System Solution (CSS) that integrates proprietary software, GMP-manufactured excipient bases, and three-dimensional printing technology to automate the preparation of personalised medications. The platform is designed to improve the consistency, precision, and speed of pharmaceutical compounding compared with conventional manual pharmacy processes, and includes integrated quality control features.
"This investment reflects the conviction our partners have in what we're building," said Charlotta Topelius, CEO and Founder of CurifyLabs (搜索). "We have set a high bar for clinical rigour, product quality, and customer support, and this funding gives us the resources to raise that bar further."
Commercial Traction and Platform Adoption
CurifyLabs (搜索)' technology is currently used by pharmacies in twenty-one U.S. states and across Europe to compound and dispense thousands of doses daily. The company's most recent product, the PharmaPrinter Aurum, is reported to compound up to nine times faster than manual processes, representing a significant efficiency gain for pharmacy operations.
The funding will be deployed across several strategic priorities: expanding the company's U.S. operations, strengthening its supply chain to support a growing network of pharmacy partners, enhancing customer support capabilities, and accelerating ongoing product development, including further advancement of the PharmaPrinter Aurum platform.
Addressing Compounding Challenges
Traditional manual pharmacy compounding presents challenges in consistency, precision, and throughput. CurifyLabs (搜索)' automated approach aims to address these limitations by standardising the preparation process through its integrated system of software, standardised excipient bases, and 3D printing technology. The inclusion of built-in quality control features further differentiates the platform from conventional compounding methods.
With this latest capital infusion, CurifyLabs (搜索) is positioned to scale its technology across the U.S. market while continuing to refine its platform for the growing demand for personalised medications.
