Positive Phase 3 Data Supports Contraceptive Development
The company received encouraging news from its Ovaprene Phase 3 clinical program, with an independent data safety monitoring board (DSMB) recommending the pivotal study continue without modification after reviewing interim safety data in July 2025. The interim pregnancy rate of women treated in the study was consistent with the company's expectations based on prior postcoital test studies of Ovaprene.
Ovaprene is being developed as an investigational hormone-free intravaginal contraceptive, with the potential to become the first FDA-approved hormone-free intravaginal monthly contraceptive. The ongoing Phase 3 multicenter, single-arm, open-label study is assessing typical use pregnancy rate over 13 menstrual cycles using the Pearl Index as the primary endpoint.
Expanding Commercial Portfolio
Beyond the December launch, Daré has outlined an ambitious commercialization timeline with four women's health products expected to become available over the next two years. DARE to RESTORE (搜索), consisting of two non-prescription vaginal probiotics designed to support vaginal microbiome health, is targeted for availability in the first quarter of 2026.
The company is also developing DARE to RECLAIM (搜索), a proprietary monthly bio-identical estradiol and progesterone intravaginal ring targeted for prescription fulfillment in early 2027 via the 503B compounding pathway. This product is designed to establish entry into the estimated $4.5 billion compounded hormone therapy market while the company continues building toward FDA approval of DARE-HRT1 for treating moderate-to-severe vasomotor symptoms (搜索) due to menopause (搜索).
Grant-Funded Innovation Pipeline
Daré is advancing multiple grant-funded programs addressing critical gaps in women's health. The company reported improved financial metrics for the third quarter of 2025, with approximately $23.1 million in cash and cash equivalents and working capital of approximately $3.8 million as of September 30, 2025. This represents a significant improvement from a working capital deficit of $3.2 million at the end of 2024.
Research and development expenses decreased 56% to $1.2 million in Q3 2025 compared to $2.7 million in Q3 2024, primarily due to increased contra R&D expenses from non-dilutive funding awards and decreases in manufacturing costs related to Ovaprene. General and administrative expenses increased to $2.5 million from $2.0 million year-over-year, driven by commercial-readiness expenses and the company's expanded business strategy.
