Smart Basal Feature Under Regulatory Review
The company announced Dexcom Smart Basal (搜索), a new integrated titration module designed to simplify basal insulin initiation and management for users. The feature is currently under FDA and CE mark review, representing one of Dexcom's most significant product innovations.

Clinical Evidence Across Diabetes Types
Gestational Diabetes Breakthrough
The GRACE trial, an open-label, international, randomized controlled trial, demonstrated significant benefits of CGM use in gestational diabetes management. Women with gestational diabetes using CGM showed reduced risk of babies being born large for their gestational age and demonstrated better glycemic control compared to those using fingersticks. The findings reinforce that CGM should be offered as standard care to women with gestational diabetes.
Exercise Optimization in Type 1 Diabetes
New Dexcom CGM data revealed how pregnant women with Type 1 diabetes can optimize glucose excursions around meals through strategic exercise timing. The research identified exercise before versus after meals as a simple but powerful tool to potentially help prevent maternal-neonatal complications linked with impaired glucose excursions.
Diabetic Ketoacidosis Management
Clinical outcomes data showed that remote real-time monitoring with Dexcom CGM can be safe and effective for hospitalized adults suffering from diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), reducing the need for point-of-care glucose tests. The COACH study demonstrated particularly striking results, with participants switching from fingersticks to Dexcom CGM experiencing a nearly 65% reduction in hypoglycemic events.
Cost-Effectiveness Evidence
A new economic model projected CGM as more cost-effective for people with Type 2 diabetes on insulin therapies in Japan compared to fingersticks. The analysis indicated CGM can reduce eye, renal, neuropathy and cardiovascular complications while adding quality-adjusted life years for these patients.

Dexcom's symposium, chaired by diabetes physician Dr. Sufyan Hussain, MD, PhD, from the UK, featured endocrinology experts Prof. Anne Peters, MD, from the United States, and Assoc. Prof. Halis Akturk, MD, from the United States. The presentation showcased how Dexcom CGM improves health outcomes and can help mitigate complications including diabetic ketoacidosis, eye diseases, heart disease, and severe hypoglycemia.
