Mechanism of Action
Elobixibat is designed to address chronic constipation (搜索) by inhibiting the reabsorption of bile acids from the ileum (搜索). This action increases the concentration of bile acids in the colonic lumen, leading to increased bowel movements through the stimulation of both colonic motility and fluid secretion, irrespective of transit speed.
