The funding comes as the sleep technology market experiences significant growth, with the global sleep aids market projected to reach $100 billion by 2026. Eight Sleep (搜索) has demonstrated substantial commercial traction, reporting over $500 million in Pod (搜索) sales and a tenfold revenue increase since launching its flagship product in 2019.
AI-Powered Sleep Agent Development
The new capital will primarily fund development of what Eight Sleep (搜索) calls the world's first AI-powered Sleep Agent (搜索), designed to create personalized "digital twins" of users' sleep physiology. The system uses large language models to interpret biometric data and dynamically adjust environmental factors including temperature, elevation, and bedtime routines to optimize recovery.
"We're creating digital twins of your sleep physiology to simulate, test and personalize your recovery before you even close your eyes," said Matteo Franceschetti, Eight Sleep (搜索)'s co-founder and CEO. "This is the next frontier: AI that doesn't just track you, it understands and adapts to you in real time."
The Sleep Agent (搜索) builds upon the company's existing Autopilot feature, which already makes millions of nightly adjustments based on user behavior patterns derived from analyzing over one billion hours of sleep data collected across 30 countries.
Medical Applications and FDA Approval
Eight Sleep (搜索) plans to pursue FDA approval for specific medical applications, marking a strategic shift toward clinical-grade sleep interventions. The company has already launched Hot Flash Mode, which uses targeted cooling to alleviate menopause (搜索)-related sleep disturbances, and is developing contactless sleep apnea (搜索) solutions.
The Pod (搜索)'s Health Check feature offers cardiovascular (搜索) and respiratory (搜索) monitoring with up to 99% accuracy without requiring wearables, positioning the technology as a complement to professional medical care.
