Strategic Timing with Leqembi Launch
The insurance initiative coincides strategically with the December 2023 launch of Leqembi (lecanemab) in Japan, following its approval by the Ministry of Heath, Labour and Welfare (搜索). Japan became the second country after the United States to approve this groundbreaking disease-modifying treatment for Alzheimer's disease (搜索).
"Although some measures, including lifestyle changes and exercise are considered effective in treating MCI, with the approval of a new pharmaceutical treatment for some types of MCI and mild dementia (搜索) in 2023, medication may also become an option for early treatment," Eisai stated, emphasizing the importance of financial preparedness for associated medical costs.
