The funding round will enable ELMED to expand its manufacturing operations in Hyderabad, strengthen its research and development capabilities, and scale distribution across domestic and international markets. Founded in 2018 by Pruthivin Reddy Madduri and co-founder Nikhil Konkathi, the company develops probiotic and biological solutions spanning animal health, agriculture, aquaculture, and human health sectors.

ELMED Life Sciences (搜索) operates through a business-to-business model, serving enterprise clients across multiple sectors with its microbiome (搜索)-based solutions. The company's farm products focus on improving productivity, immunity, and sustainability, addressing the growing demand for antibiotic-free and sustainable alternatives in agriculture and animal health.
In the human health segment, ELMED partners with pharmaceutical companies including Alchem (搜索) and Hetero, handling end-to-end formulation and supply for probiotic supplements (搜索). "We handle end-to-end formulation and supply to pharma companies such as Alchem and Hetero for their probiotic supplements," said founder Pruthivin Reddy Madduri. "We are the manufacturer, while the final product is sold and marketed under our partners' brand names."

ELMED currently exports to more than 18 countries and plans to expand its international presence across Europe, Asia, and Latin America. This expansion strategy aligns with rising global demand for sustainable, antibiotic-free solutions in healthcare and agriculture sectors.
Domestically, the company aims to deepen its distribution network in tier 2 and tier 3 markets, where demand for biological solutions is increasing as Indian agriculture moves toward more sustainable and residue-free practices.

The funding comes amid broader government support for biotechnology innovation, including the BIRAC (搜索)-RDI fund (Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council–Research, Development and Innovation Fund) launched in February, which allocated Rs 2,000 crore under the government's Rs 1 lakh crore RDI scheme.
