International Junior Gender Consultant Sought for West Africa's BIBEST Project

The African Development Bank has announced the need for an International Junior Gender Consultant to support the BIBEST (Build Inclusive Business Ecosystems for Stabilization and Transformation) project in West Africa. This initiative, implemented by the Mano River Union Secretariat in Sierra Leone and Liberia, aims to replicate best practices from its first phase, with an expanded focus on climate change.

Key responsibilities of the consultant include:

• Developing a full proposal for Phase 2 of the BIBEST project, emphasizing the replication of successful strategies and lessons learned from Phase 1.
• Providing operations support to the project, which involves assisting with supervision missions, tracking project activities, and supporting the preparation and review of project documents.
• Gender mainstreaming support across the Bank's operations in West Africa, including collaboration with project managers to categorize projects using the Gender Marker System, participating in operational missions, and developing innovative approaches for integrating women into the development process.

This role is crucial for ensuring that gender considerations are effectively integrated into development projects, promoting gender equality and supporting the Bank's efforts to monitor and supervise gender-related activities in its supported projects.
