The new instrument builds on the proven performance and versatility of the Centrifuge 5810 R, which has been used in laboratories around the world for many decades.
The Centrifuge 5811 R combines a new design and refreshed user interface with a significant update to its cooling technology, retaining the dependable performance and versatility laboratories value while adding selected new features for efficient, repeatable operation.
Sustainable cooling technology
A key feature of the Centrifuge 5811 R is its use of R290 propane as a refrigerant. With a global warming potential of 0.02 and an ozone depletion potential of 0, this cooling technology can support laboratory sustainability goals. Additional energy-saving features include ECO shut-off, energy-efficient FastTemp, and aerodynamic bucket designs, all of which help reduce power use during operation.

Performance and versatility
With a capacity of up to 3 L and speeds of up to 20,913 x g (14,000 rpm), the Centrifuge 5811 R supports a wide range of vessel types within a single benchtop footprint. Its portfolio includes 15 rotors and a broad selection of adapters. Swing-bucket and fixed-angle rotors, together with mixed bucket loading, allow users to combine different formats in one run, making it easier to adapt when vessels, applications, or protocols change.
The centrifuge supports applications including the harvesting and processing of cells, bacteria, yeast, algae, and other microorganisms. It can also be used for nucleic acid and protein purification, as well as peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) isolation.
Operational features
The Centrifuge 5811 R offers refrigerated operation from -9 °C to +40 °C to protect temperature-sensitive samples. An intuitive control panel with a program key and up to 35 user programs enables quick, repeatable setup. Additional design features include a low access height and Soft Touch Lid for comfortable loading, unloading, and closing, as well as Eppendorf (搜索) QuickLock® rotor lids and caps for fast and safe rotor handling. The instrument also operates quietly to support a focused working environment.
Transition and compatibility
The Centrifuge 5811 R is compatible with 16 of the 17 existing Centrifuge 5810 R rotors. This compatibility allows laboratories to continue using most of their existing rotor portfolio and supports a straightforward transition to the updated instrument.
