Strategic Scope and Responsibilities
The position carries broad responsibility across the product lifecycle. In partnership with Product and Medical Strategy teams, the Director will provide medical leadership during the design, implementation, and reporting of studies supporting pipeline products and line extensions to on-market products. The role encompasses the Oncotype DX (搜索) recurrence score, the OncoExTra (搜索) therapy selection portfolio, the MRD liquid biopsy portfolio, and digital pathology algorithms as they apply to breast cancer (搜索) clinical care.
A key function involves cultivating external relationships with oncology leaders at academic institutions, cooperative groups, and research organizations. The Director will initiate and lead external advisory boards involving medical leaders in pharma, key opinion leaders, and other third parties. Additionally, the role is accountable for scientific presentations and publications generated from product development collaborations.
Cross-Functional Leadership
The Director will serve as both a leader of and participant on internal cross-functional program teams, collaborating with business development, research and development, pathology and clinical lab operations, biostatistics, clinical affairs, medical affairs, regulatory, market access, and commercial teams. The position also includes serving as the medical monitor on study teams and leading the development and implementation of clinical protocols required to support product development, validation, and commercialization.
Qualifications and Compensation
Minimum qualifications include an M.D. or D.O. degree with completion of fellowship training in medical oncology, demonstrated expertise in molecular oncology, and proven ability to lead cross-functional teams on complex, multi-faceted projects. Preferred qualifications include two or more years of healthcare experience, oncology experience within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry with an emphasis on clinical or translational research, and strong knowledge of FDA and ex-U.S. regulatory documentation and processes.
The position offers a salary range of $300,000 to $344,000 annually, with bonus eligibility. The role can be based in Redwood City, CA, San Diego, CA, or be field-based, with travel expected up to 30% of working time.
