GELITA, a specialist in collagen and gelatin technologies, has expanded its offering with the launch of MEDELLAPRO (搜索) Ultra Low Endotoxin gelatin, which the company reports features less than ten endotoxin units per gram. The new excipient is designed to enable the development of advanced, sensitive biomedical products, ranging from surgical sealants and hemostatic agents to scaffolds and drug delivery systems.
The launch broadens GELITA's Endotoxin Controlled Excipients (ECE) portfolio, a line of excipients engineered to ensure maximum safety, biocompatibility, and regulatory compliance. GELITA said in its statement that these products could pave the way for "breakthroughs in drug delivery, vaccine stabilisation, tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting and regenerative medicine," providing researchers and manufacturers with reliable, high-purity ingredients.

The MEDELLAPRO (搜索) launch represents a strategic extension of GELITA's ECE portfolio, which is tailored to meet the stringent requirements of emerging biomedical fields. The company will showcase its latest advancements in excipient technology at BIO International 2026 in San Diego (Booth 3335-DF), featuring two flagship products from the ECE portfolio:
- MEDELLAPRO (gelatin) — the newly launched ultra-low endotoxin gelatin.
- VACCIPRO (collagen peptides) — trusted for stabilising vaccines and injectables, offering low allergenic potential, high tolerability, and protection for sensitive molecules.
Advancing Recombinant Collagen Proteins
Beyond its gelatin and collagen peptide offerings, GELITA is advancing biotechnological processes to develop animal-free, recombinant collagen proteins. The company states these will offer resource-efficient and sustainable solutions for the future.
