GIANT and MARTIN's Pharmacies Now Offering Flu and Pneumonia Vaccinations Ahead of Flu Season

The GIANT Company (搜索) announced Monday that flu and pneumonia (搜索) vaccinations are now available at all of its in-store pharmacy locations, along with MARTIN's Pharmacy (搜索), ahead of the upcoming flu season. The vaccinations are offered at more than 130 pharmacy locations across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.
"Flu season is just around the corner, and an annual vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to help protect you and your family," said Nick Koch, director of pharmacy and wellbeing for The GIANT Company (搜索). "As the flu virus changes, vaccinations are reformulated every year, which is why it's recommended to get a flu shot annually. It can take up to two weeks for the body to develop an immune response following vaccination, so now is the time to take steps to prepare to fight the flu by visiting your local GIANT or MARTIN's pharmacy (搜索)."
Vaccination Access and Coverage
Walk-in appointments are available, and customers can also schedule vaccinations in advance. Most insurance plans, including Medicare Part B, cover recommended flu vaccinations with little or no out-of-pocket cost, depending on coverage.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends an annual flu shot for everyone 6 months and older, ideally by the end of October. Vaccination is especially important for older adults, pregnant women, and people with certain chronic health conditions. The CDC particularly emphasizes at-risk populations such as adults 65 years or older, pregnant women, and people with chronic conditions. Individuals should discuss appropriate vaccines with their pharmacist or healthcare provider.
Additional Immunization Services
In addition to flu and pneumonia (搜索) vaccines, GIANT and MARTIN's pharmacies offer several other immunizations, including COVID-19 (搜索) and MMR (measles (搜索), mumps (搜索), and rubella (搜索)) vaccines, as well as other pneumococcal immunizations. The company reports offering more than a dozen additional vaccinations. Immunizations are administered by GIANT and MARTIN's pharmacists and specially trained team members.

Patient Incentive Program
Beginning Aug. 30, customers who receive an eligible flu shot and use their GIANT or MARTIN's rewards card can receive an offer for $10 off a future grocery purchase. According to one announcement, the offer applies to a future $50 grocery purchase and runs through Dec. 23.
