Grey Matters Health Inc. (搜索), a Canadian healthcare company, has taken delivery of its first brain-dedicated Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanning system for its flagship NovaScan Neuroimaging Clinics location, opening soon in Davie, Florida. The clinic will be the first of its kind in the United States to offer brain-only PET scanning, aimed at meeting the growing demand for early Alzheimer's disease (搜索) detection through beta-amyloid (搜索) imaging and providing diagnostic imaging for other neurodegenerative conditions.
The Davie clinic will feature the U.S. FDA-cleared CareMiBrain system, a streamlined PET scanner that does not require an integrated Computed Tomography (CT) component to produce high-quality images. This design results in 25% less radiation exposure for patients and incorporates a comfortable chair-style configuration. Unlike conventional PET/CT systems, CareMiBrain enables patients to remain seated in an open, upright environment while the scanner moves into position, helping reduce claustrophobia, dizziness, and motion-related discomfort during imaging.

Strategic Location and Clinical Applications
The inaugural clinic will be located at the HCA Florida University Medical Office Building, on the HCA Florida University Hospital campus. It will be the first such clinic in the U.S. to provide brain-dedicated PET scans to aid the medical community in the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (搜索). Beyond Alzheimer's, the CareMiBrain system will be utilized for imaging related to frontotemporal dementia (搜索), Parkinson's disease (搜索), Lewy Body Dementia (搜索), and select neuro-oncology applications.

Market Opportunity Driven by New Therapies
The U.S. FDA has recently approved two monoclonal antibody treatments for Alzheimer's disease (搜索) — Leqembi (Eisai and Biogen) and Kisunla (Eli Lilly) — both designed to slow disease progression by dissolving beta-amyloid (搜索) plaque in the brain. Both therapies require a positive beta-amyloid brain scan or spinal tap for patient authorization, and patients receiving treatment require additional brain PET scans to monitor their progress. Clinical Trial Partnership with Catalyst MedTech (搜索)
In a parallel development, Grey Matters Health has signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Catalyst MedTech (搜索) to provide a minimum of 200 brain PET scans for an upcoming Alzheimer's disease (搜索) clinical trial. The trial will be conducted by an international Contract Research Organization (CRO) specializing in Alzheimer's research, and the scans will be performed at the company's second planned NovaScan location in Tampa, Florida. The parties are working toward signing a definitive services agreement within 60 days.
"A services agreement with Catalyst MedTech (搜索) for a minimum of 200 brain PET scans in our first year of operation for our planned second Florida location in Tampa will provide a significant base of initial revenue," said Moreau. "Providing brain PET scans to CROs is an important part of our business model."

Expansion Timeline
The Davie clinic is planned to open in Q3 2026, while the second Tampa location is targeted for establishment by the end of Q4 2026. There are currently 162 drugs under development for Alzheimer's disease (搜索), and when they advance into Phase 2 clinical trials, they will all require a series of brain PET scans for enrolled patients — underscoring the growing demand for dedicated neuroimaging infrastructure.
Grey Matters continues preparations for the opening of its first clinic, including securing all required licenses, completing construction work, and installing technical and operations systems.
