核心洞察
Gubra (搜索) announced a significant expansion of its laboratory and office facilities at DTU Science Park in Denmark, increasing total space by 70% to nearly 10,000 m².
The expansion supports the company's ambitious growth strategy following a 70% increase in CRO business revenues from 2022 to 2024 and doubling of workforce to 300 employees.
The enhanced capacity will enable Gubra (搜索) to double its internal discovery output and accelerate development of obesity-related programs including UCN2 (搜索), expected to enter clinical trials in the first half of 2026.
Danish peptide-focused biotech company Gubra (搜索) announced a major facility expansion at DTU Science Park near its headquarters in Hørsholm, Denmark, positioning the company to accelerate both its internal drug discovery programs and contract research operations. The expansion increases Gubra's total laboratory and office space by 70% to nearly 10,000 m², reflecting the company's sustained growth trajectory across both business units.
Strategic Growth Foundation
The facility expansion comes as Gubra (搜索) experiences significant momentum across its dual business model. From 2022 to 2024, the company's CRO business increased revenues by 70%, while simultaneously advancing its internal R&D pipeline. During this period, Gubra doubled its workforce to approximately 300 employees and generated revenue of DKK 2.6 billion (approximately EUR 350 million) in the first nine months of 2025.
"The expansion is a natural next step following several years of strong growth across both our Biotech and CRO businesses," said Trine Nygaard Hamann, Head of Gubra (搜索) CRO. "By significantly increasing our laboratory and office capacity close to our headquarters, we are strengthening our ability to accelerate the discovery and development of novel peptide-based therapeutics, while at the same time substantially expanding our offering of high-quality preclinical research services to partners."
Pipeline Advancement and Clinical Prospects
The enhanced capacity directly supports Gubra (搜索)'s advancing obesity-focused pipeline, which includes clinical-stage assets ABBV-295 (搜索) (amylin (搜索)) and BI 3034701 (triple agonist). The company's UCN2 (搜索) program, targeting healthy weight loss, is expected to enter clinical development in the first half of 2026, representing a key milestone for the company's internal development efforts.
"This expansion is a key enabler of our ambitious long-term growth strategy, allowing us to double our internal discovery output, accelerate the generation of more drug development candidates, and continue scaling our CRO business," said Markus Rohrwild, Chief Executive Officer of Gubra (搜索).
Leadership Enhancement
Complementing the facility expansion, Gubra (搜索) recently appointed Thomas Langenickel, M.D., as Chief Medical and Development Officer. Dr. Langenickel brings more than two decades of experience in pharmaceutical and biotech companies, spanning drug discovery, translational medicine, and clinical development. His appointment reflects the company's strategic focus on strengthening clinical capabilities as programs advance toward proof-of-concept studies.
"I'm thrilled to join Gubra (搜索) at such an exciting inflection point. The company's ambition and scientific depth provide an exceptional foundation for advancing a pipeline of first- and best-in-class therapeutics," said Dr. Langenickel, who most recently served as CMO at Ethris (搜索) and held senior roles at Novartis and Bristol Myers Squibb (搜索).
Operational Integration
The new premises are strategically located adjacent to Gubra (搜索)'s existing headquarters, ensuring operational continuity and close integration across research, development, and service activities. This proximity supports the company's synergistic business model, where CRO services generate steady cash flow while funding high-impact biotech R&D projects with significant value inflection potential through partnerships.
Gubra (搜索)'s disease-agnostic approach to peptide-based drug discovery, combined with its established CRO capabilities, positions the company as a unique entity in the biotechnology landscape. The facility expansion represents a concrete step toward realizing the company's ambition to become a leading peptide-centric techbio company.
