Guided Therapeutics, Inc. (搜索) (OTCQB: GTHP), the maker of the LuViva Advanced Cervical Scan (搜索), has marked two significant milestones in its China commercialization strategy: a new distribution agreement with Yuanshuo Medical Instruments Corporation (搜索) (YMIC) and the receipt of an $80,000 installment payment from existing partner Hangzhou Dongye Medical Technology Company Ltd. (搜索) (HDMT).
The $80,000 payment, announced July 22, 2026, represents the fourth installment of a $700,000 purchase order the company received from HDMT last year. The four LuViva devices covered by this payment are expected to ship later this year, bringing the total number of devices delivered to HDMT to eleven out of 35 units due over the next several months.
Expanding Distribution Footprint in China
Just one week earlier, on July 14, 2026, Guided Therapeutics disclosed a new agreement with YMIC, headquartered in Jiangsu province — a region home to 137 million women eligible for testing with LuViva. YMIC is licensed by the Chinese government to sell and distribute both Class II and Class III medical devices.
Under the terms of the YMIC agreement, Guided Therapeutics will receive payments and parts from China valued at approximately $300,000. Upon approval by China's National Medical Products Administration (搜索) (NMPA), YMIC will execute a purchase order for 50 LuViva systems and 500,000 single-use components. In return, Guided Therapeutics will provide services and specialized parts needed for a manufacturing inspection to be conducted by NMPA. A successful inspection is expected to result in NMPA approval for marketing and sale of LuViva in China.
Clinical Significance of LuViva Technology
The LuViva Advanced Cervical Scan (搜索) is a rapid, painless, non-invasive testing platform based on patented biophotonic technology that uses light for the early detection of disease at the cellular level. In a multi-center clinical trial involving women at risk for cervical disease, the technology demonstrated the ability to detect cervical cancer (搜索) up to two years earlier than conventional modalities, according to published reports.
HDMT, based in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, serves as the exclusive gynecology products provider for 42 hospitals that perform approximately two million cervical cancer (搜索) screenings each year. The complementary nature of the YMIC and HDMT agreements positions Guided Therapeutics to address a substantial portion of the Chinese cervical cancer screening market.
The LuViva Advanced Cervical Scan (搜索) remains an investigational device limited by federal law to investigational use in the United States.
