Harvard University has significantly expanded its research alliance with Northpond Labs (搜索), the research and development-focused affiliate of Northpond Ventures (搜索), to accelerate the translation of breakthrough healthcare innovations from laboratory discoveries to clinical applications. The expanded collaboration will provide substantial funding for research across Harvard's Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering (搜索), Harvard Medical School (HMS), John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), and Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS).

Building on Proven Success
The expanded alliance builds upon a successful partnership established in 2020 between Northpond Labs (搜索) and the Wyss Institute, which created the Lab for Bioengineering Research and Innovation. This initial collaboration demonstrated the effectiveness of academic-industry partnerships in advancing high-value technologies toward commercialization.
A notable success from the original alliance was support for the Controlled Enzymatic RNA Synthesis project, which led to the founding of EnPlusOne Biosciences (搜索). The startup is developing a scalable enzymatic RNA synthesis platform designed to enable next-generation RNA therapeutics (搜索). Additional supported projects from the initial collaboration remain in development or stealth mode.
