HistoIndex (搜索), a pioneer in AI-driven digital pathology solutions for chronic liver disease, has announced the expansion of its commercial partnership network in the United States with the addition of two new hepatology and gastroenterology centers. The Singapore-based company has partnered with Houston Research Institute (搜索) (HRI) Kingwood and Knowledge Research Center (搜索) (KRC) in Orange, California, extending access to its integrated diagnostic services for Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Steatohepatitis (搜索) (MASH (搜索)).
Strengthening Texas Operations
The partnership with HRI Kingwood represents an expansion within the existing HRI network, where HistoIndex (搜索)'s diagnostic services were rolled out across the system in late 2025. According to the company, this integration has demonstrated positive impacts on operational workflows, from biopsy sample preparation and disease status evaluation to logistical coordination with central laboratories.
"Over the past few months, we've seen how integrating HistoIndex (搜索)'s solutions across our centers has streamlined their operational workflow for processing and shipping of liver biopsies, in addition to the markedly increased consistency we've observed in the biopsy interpretations by both traditional and AI-enhanced assessments offered by HistoIndex," said Dr. Mazen Noureddin, MD, MHS, Director at Houston Research Institute (搜索) and Co-Chairman of the Board at Summit and Pinnacle Clinical Research.

Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Steatohepatitis (搜索) is a progressive form of Metabolic Dysfunction-associated Steatotic Liver Disease (搜索) (MASLD (搜索)) characterized by steatosis, ballooning degeneration and inflammation, which can lead to fibrosis (搜索), cirrhosis (搜索), liver failure and increased risk of liver cancer (搜索).
Pathologist assessment of liver biopsy remains the gold standard for diagnosing and assessing MASH (搜索) severity. However, histological categorical scoring systems used as surrogate endpoints in MASH clinical trials are limited in capturing the complex and heterogeneous nature of the disease. This limitation has created a growing need for more accurate and reliable tools, such as AI-based digital pathology solutions, to improve assessment of treatment response and disease severity in MASH.
