The company recently appointed Lee Jung-hee as its new CEO to spearhead international growth initiatives. Lee, born in 1976 and holding an MBA from Alto University in Finland, brings 23 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, having worked at Ibsen Korea, Hanwha Pharmaceutical, Hugel, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Zetema, and Chong Kun Dang Bio. His expertise spans marketing, sales, and strategic planning in the skin and beauty medical fields, with particular strength in overseas business development during his tenure at Hugel and Daewoong Pharmaceutical.
"It is an important time to start exporting in earnest based on Chinese product approval," said CEO Lee Jung-hee. "We will strengthen our targeting of the Chinese market in the second half of the year and expand research and development of next-generation products to lay the foundation for sustainable growth."

Kuwait represents a strategic entry point for Huons Biopharma (搜索)'s Middle East expansion, as the country is considered a market with high demand for beauty and aesthetics among GCC nations. The growing demand for noninvasive cosmetic procedures among high-income consumers is driving expansion of the botulinum toxin market, particularly around dermatology and cosmetic clinics.
Based on this Kuwait authorization, Huons Biopharma (搜索) plans to expand into other GCC countries including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, and Bahrain. A major breakthrough came in January when the company received approval from China's National Medical Products Administration (搜索) (NMPA) for its 100-unit botulinum toxin product "Hewtox (搜索)," with shipments beginning last month. Currently, the company sells products in 16 countries, including Thailand and Russia.
