"Cancer treatment regimes had advanced and immunology was fast becoming a part of it," Sinha stated, before delivering the striking statistic that "around 80 percent of these patients suffered heart attacks." He further disclosed that he personally knows many patients who developed heart diseases after their 9th to 10th dose of immunotherapy.
The Lieutenant Governor's remarks come amid growing discussions in the medical community about balancing the life-extending benefits of immunotherapy with possible cardiovascular complications. "Biomedical discovery history is about collaboration, answering questions, critical analysis of and from other scientists," Sinha said, calling upon scientists and researchers to collaborate for robust advancements in medical sciences that prioritize safer patient outcomes.
