The revision takes into account the evolving interpretation of laws by courts, according to the office.
The IPO framed pharmaceutical patenting in India as both extremely important and sensitive, noting that a bad patent can become a burden to society while good patents are essential for promoting innovation and technological development in the country.
To meet these targets, the office said it is continuously upgrading its internal resources and revamping its internal work modules and public interfaces.
