The collaborative study between the Department of Biotechnology (搜索) (DBT) and the Ministry of Ayush will enroll 1,250 newly diagnosed TB (搜索) patients across eight premier institutions in India. According to Prof. Vaidya Rabinarayan Acharya, Director General of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS (搜索)), the initiative has been developed under a memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Ayush and the Department of Biotechnology (搜索) on May 25, 2022.

The Indian TB (搜索) Genomic Surveillance (InTGS) initiative has sequenced more than 32,000 Mycobacterium tuberculosis (搜索) clinical strains, creating a valuable national repository to support drug discovery, diagnostics, and containment of drug-resistant TB.
