ISPE Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Announcement of 2025 Facility of the Year Awards Winners

The International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineering (搜索) (ISPE) has announced the winners of its 2025 Facility of the Year Awards (FOYA) at the ISPE Europe Annual Conference in London. This year's announcement holds special significance as it marks the 20th anniversary of the prestigious program that recognizes excellence and innovation in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
Six category winners and two honorable mentions were selected from a competitive pool of finalists, showcasing advancements across innovation, operations, Pharma 4.0™, and social impact categories.

Innovation Category Winner
Touchlight (搜索) received the Innovation category award for its project "Development and Manufacture of Novel Synthetic DNA (搜索) to Enable the Future of Genetic Medicines (搜索)" located in Hampton, London, UK. The facility represents a significant advancement in genetic medicine manufacturing capabilities.
Operations Excellence Winners
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine secured two operations category awards. Their "Flexible Bottle Packaging Line" in Latina, Italy won the Operations Excellence award, while their "BioCork 3.2 Expansion Project" in Ringaskiddy, Cork, Ireland was recognized for Project Execution excellence.
Pharma 4.0™ Leadership
CSL Behring's "Project Aurora – Facility F Base Fractionation" in Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia was honored with the Pharma 4.0™ category award, highlighting the integration of advanced digital technologies in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Social Impact Recognition
The Social Impact category featured two winners. Bayer Healthcare LLC received recognition for addressing unmet medical needs with their "Cell Therapy (搜索) Launch and Manufacturing Facility" in Berkeley, California. Sanofi won the Sustainability Excellence award for their "Building 99 – Wastewater Treatment and Recovery Plant" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Honorable Mentions
Two facilities received honorable mentions: Erbe Elektromedizin GmbH's "Erbe 4.i" project in Rangendingen, Germany, and United Therapeutics (搜索)' "Clinical Xenotransplantation DPF Facility" in Christiansburg, Virginia, USA.
