Reporting to Sofia Baig, President of Precision for Medicine, Clendening will oversee the company's global specialty labs business, including worldwide operational delivery, growth strategy, and the enrichment of AI-driven approaches that accelerate biomarker research.
The appointment, effective July 14, 2026, positions Clendening at the helm of Precision's specialty laboratory services at a time when the clinical research industry is undergoing rapid transformation driven by artificial intelligence and the expanding role of biomarkers in drug development.
A Track Record of Laboratory Innovation
Clendening brings extensive experience in global laboratory strategy, operations, and commercial growth across complex clinical trial environments. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Biotechnology Operations and Product Development at Clario (搜索). Prior to that, he spent more than a decade in executive leadership roles at PPD Central Labs (搜索), where he was the primary driver and operational architect behind the development of what the company describes as an evolutionary central laboratory platform. For his contributions, Clendening received the prestigious Center Watch Award for Innovation.

Clendening holds a Bachelor of Science in biology and chemistry from Muskingum University. He resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, with his wife and five children.
