Mabylon Raises CHF 30 Million to Advance Tri-Specific Peanut Allergy Antibody MY006 Through Phase I Trials
核心洞察
Mabylon AG (搜索) secured CHF 30 million in funding through equity investment and convertible loan from existing investors, including former Roche management and board members.
The funding will advance lead candidate MY006, a tri-specific antibody neutralizing peanut allergens (搜索), to completion of Phase Ia/b trials by 2027 with goals of generating safety and preliminary efficacy data.
MY006 represents a novel approach to peanut allergy (搜索) treatment by directly blocking allergen-IgE (搜索) interactions at the molecular level, potentially offering faster protection than current immunotherapy approaches.
Swiss biotechnology company Mabylon AG (搜索) announced it has raised CHF 30 million (USD 37 million) to advance its clinical-stage lead candidate MY006 and develop its early-stage pipeline. The funding combines a CHF 15 million capital increase and CHF 15 million convertible loan from existing private investors, with major investment coming from former management and board members of Roche.
Advancing Novel Peanut Allergy Treatment
The funding will enable Mabylon to advance MY006, a tri-specific antibody neutralizing peanut allergens (搜索), to completion of a Phase Ia/b trial by 2027. The company aims to generate robust safety and preliminary efficacy data for what it describes as a "multi-specific anti-allergen antibody for the prophylactic treatment of peanut allergy (搜索), an indication with a high unmet medical need."
MY006 represents a paradigm shift in allergy treatment by directly neutralizing peanut allergens (搜索) rather than desensitizing the immune system over months like current immunotherapies. The antibody is designed to block allergen-IgE (搜索) interactions at the molecular level, potentially offering faster, more targeted protection with fewer systemic side effects.
"MY006 is a multi-specific anti-allergen antibody for the prophylactic treatment of peanut allergy (搜索), an indication with a high unmet medical need. The funds will enable Mabylon to reach clinical proof-of-concept and further advance its early-stage pipeline," said Gottlieb Keller, Chairman of Mabylon's Board of Directors.
Expanding Pipeline Development
Beyond MY006, the funding will support development of Mabylon's broader allergen-neutralizing antibody portfolio. The company is advancing MY010, a multi-specific and cross-reactive antibody targeting the birch Bet v 1 allergen (搜索), as well as all major birch-related tree, fruit and nuts allergens. Additionally, MY011, an antibody product for treating grass pollen allergies, will receive development support.
Leadership Changes and Strategic Direction
Dr. Thomas Hecht was elected as a new member of Mabylon's Board of Directors, succeeding Prof. Adriano Aguzzi, whose term ended in June 2025. The leadership change comes as the company positions itself for clinical advancement.
"We are very pleased to have closed a CHF 30 million financing agreement in such a challenging global funding environment. This is a strong validation of our approach using human-derived, multi-specific antibodies for the treatment of allergies," said Alcide Barberis, PhD, CEO of Mabylon.
Competitive Landscape and Market Position
The peanut allergy (搜索) treatment market is currently dominated by Roche's Xolair (omalizumab), which secured FDA approval in 2024 for IgE-mediated allergies (搜索). In the OUtMATCH trial, 36% of patients treated with Xolair tolerated 2,000 mg of peanut protein. However, Xolair's mechanism targets IgE (搜索) broadly and does not address the root cause of allergen sensitivity.
Emerging competitors include Camallergy (搜索)'s CA002, an oral immunotherapy in Phase III trials showing 95% desensitization rates in early access programs, and DBV Technologies' DBV712, an epicutaneous patch also in Phase III with FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designation.
The global peanut allergy (搜索) treatment market is projected to grow from $0.51 billion in 2025 to $0.77 billion by 2029, driven by rising allergy prevalence and unmet medical needs.
Technology Platform and Approach
Mabylon specializes in harnessing naturally occurring human antibodies to treat allergies, neurodegenerative diseases, and inflammation. The company's human-derived antibodies are sourced from allergic patients and target disease-relevant epitopes, potentially offering superior therapeutic potential compared to antibodies from conventional sources such as humanized animal models or artificial libraries.
The successful funding round in a challenging global environment demonstrates investor confidence in Mabylon's human-derived antibody platform and its potential to address significant unmet medical needs in allergy treatment.
