Australian reproductive biotechnology company Memphasys Limited (搜索) has secured its first European commercial agreement, executing a five-year supply contract with Centro Fertilita Assistita (搜索) (CFA) Italia worth a minimum of €525,000 (~A$925,000). The deal marks a strategic milestone in the company's global expansion of its Felix automated sperm isolation system.
Commercial Agreement Details
Under the agreement, CFA Italia, one of Italy's largest private IVF groups based in Naples, will purchase a minimum of 7,500 Felix cartridges over five years. The contract structure includes 3,000 cartridges to be purchased across the first 24 months, followed by 1,500 cartridges annually from years three through five, with cartridge pricing set at €70 per unit.
The partnership has already generated immediate revenue, with CFA Italia placing an initial purchase order for 500 Felix cartridges valued at A$62,500. This early order, received ahead of CE Mark activation, demonstrates strong clinical interest and validates Memphasys' direct commercialisation strategy. Revenue from this initial order will be recognised in the current quarter, with cash receipt expected in the following quarter.
Technology and Market Opportunity
The Felix System (搜索) represents a patented bio-separation technology that isolates viable sperm cells (搜索) for human assisted reproduction. By combining electrophoresis and size-exclusion membranes, Felix delivers a standardised sperm selection process that enhances sperm quality while reducing laboratory time. The system replaces traditional centrifugation methods, which can cause cellular stress and DNA damage, offering clinicians a superior alternative.
Italy presents a substantial market opportunity for fertility technologies, with nearly 97,000 assisted reproductive technology procedures conducted in 2022. IVF cycles accounted for the largest share of this activity, reflecting robust clinical throughput and sustained patient demand across the region.
Distribution Network and Expansion Strategy
CFA Italia operates within Italy's sophisticated IVF market and maintains established relationships across a broad network of IVF clinics. The clinics in CFA's commercial network perform thousands of IVF cycles annually, providing a substantial potential recurring addressable market for Felix technology. CFA will actively engage these clinics to promote and sell Felix, supporting market penetration beyond the initial agreement.

The early demand from CFA Italia supports the potential to exceed minimum contracted volumes, with further European orders expected as the company continues its commercial rollout ahead of CE Mark approval anticipated in early 2026.
