MGI Tech and Eva Holding Group Partner to Bring First IVD-Certified High-Throughput Genetic Sequencer to Brazil
核心洞察
MGI Tech (搜索) has partnered with Eva Holding Group (搜索) to install the DNBSEQ-T7 (搜索) genetic sequencer, marking the first IVD-certified high-throughput equipment available for clinical use in Brazil.
The collaboration aims to enhance cancer disease tracking accuracy and expand Brazilian patients' access to genomic technologies for precision medicine applications.
The partnership will particularly benefit oncology patients, rare disease diagnosis, and neonatal screening through advanced genomic sequencing capabilities including the 72-hour Genome service.
MGI Tech (搜索) Co., Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with Eva Holding Group (搜索), a Brazilian genomics company, to expand access to cutting-edge genetic sequencing technology across Brazil. The collaboration centers on the deployment of the DNBSEQ-T7 (搜索) genetic sequencer, representing a significant milestone as the first IVD (In Vitro Diagnostic) certified high-throughput equipment available for clinical use in the country.
Revolutionary Technology Arrives in Latin America
The DNBSEQ-T7 (搜索) system marks a historic achievement as the first T7 with IVD certification sold in Latin America. Previously, Brazil had access to this technology only for research purposes, but the IVD certification now enables clinical applications for the first time. The high-performance sequencer has already demonstrated its capabilities in Brazil's largest genomic sequencing project.
"The DNBSEQ-T7 (搜索) is a high-performance sequencer that combines large processing capacity with flexibility for multiple applications, including whole-genome, exome, and transcriptome sequencing. Its DNBSEQ™ technology delivers high-quality data at low cost," explains Carlos Carpio, Senior Commercial Director for MGI Latin America and General Manager of MGI in Brazil.
Enhanced Genomic Analysis Capabilities
The DNBSEQ-T7 (搜索)'s advanced capabilities enable resolution of complex genomic structures and filling of gaps in genome assemblies, delivering deeper and more continuous DNA (搜索) analysis. This technology contributes to generating more comprehensive data, improving the final quality of genome assemblies, supporting accurate variant detection, and providing a broader view of genetic profiles.
The partnership specifically targets enhanced accuracy in cancer disease tracking, leveraging the sequencer's high-performance capabilities to improve diagnostic precision and treatment outcomes.
Comprehensive Genomic Platform
Eva Holding Group (搜索) operates through four specialized brands, each utilizing DNA (搜索) as a central diagnostic tool:
- Predictus Gene: Focuses on human predictive analysis through whole genome sequencing (WGS)
- OLLIN: Dedicated to clinical diagnosis of rare diseases
- Pet Nex: Specialized in genetic analysis for pets
- Earth Biome: Focused on genomics applied to livestock and agriculture
"MGI is now our main partner in bringing cutting-edge genetic sequencing technology. This collaboration represents another important step in innovation with real impact, especially benefiting oncology patients, rare diseases, and neonatal screening, through the 72-hour Genome," state Dr. Rene Pimenta da Silva Junior, CEO of OLLIN (搜索) Análises Genômicas, and Dr. Carolina A. Barbosa, President of Eva Holding Group (搜索).
Clinical Impact and Precision Medicine Applications
Genetic sequencing plays a critical role in screening for various types of cancer, helping identify genes associated with disease development. With higher precision levels, physicians can recommend more effective and personalized treatments, leading to improved clinical outcomes and increased patient survival rates.
The technology also supports predictive medicine in cases of hereditary cancer where genetic predisposition exists, enabling preventive measures. "Understanding the risks of certain diseases enables the adoption of more assertive prevention strategies, as well as the comparison of therapeutic options to select those with the highest likelihood of a positive response, based on each patient's genetic history," concludes Carlos Carpio.
Strategic Infrastructure Development
As part of its expansion strategy, Eva Holding Group (搜索) plans to centralize high-complexity genomic operations in a technology park, ensuring greater efficiency, quality control, and scalability in its projects. This infrastructure development supports the partnership's goal of expanding genomic access across Brazil's healthcare system.
