AI Platform Targets Liver-Specific Biomarkers
Under the collaboration, Mursla Bio (搜索)'s AI Precision Medicine Platform will generate hepatocyte (搜索)-specific extracellular vesicle (h-EV) profiles from blood samples collected from a well-characterized cohort of patients with MASH (搜索) and matched healthy controls. The partnership will explore mode-of-action related biomarkers and evaluate biomarker panels to stratify patients for the pharmaceutical company's investigational therapy.
The initial phase will focus on generating insights into liver tissue biology in MASH (搜索) by building tissue-labeled, high dimensional mRNA and protein datasets from h-EVs in blood. This data will help define mode-of-action related pathways and patient stratification signatures, while strengthening Mursla Bio (搜索)'s AI liver disease models developed through its MEV01 clinical study.
Expanding Beyond Cancer Surveillance
The collaboration complements Mursla Bio (搜索)'s lead product, EvoLiver (搜索)™, which was developed for liver cancer (搜索) surveillance among cirrhotic patients and achieved FDA Breakthrough Device Designation. The partnership broadens the clinical and translational reach of the company's clinically validated platform across metabolic liver diseases, using the same infrastructure to accelerate the translation of exploratory biomarkers into regulatory-grade companion diagnostics.

The condition affects 5-7% of the world's adult population, with more than 75% of those affected classified as overweight, obese, and living with type 2 diabetes. MASH is characterized by the buildup of excess fat in the liver, which causes inflammation and cell damage, and can progress to irreversible scarring (cirrhosis (搜索)) and, in some cases, lead to liver failure (搜索) or liver cancer (搜索).
