The groundbreaking ceremony took place on July 22, 2025, at the Coordinated Wholesale Centre (CWC) in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area.

The Anambra facility represents one of three planned research centres in NAIP (搜索)'s strategic initiative to establish cutting-edge pharmaceutical infrastructure across Nigeria's major pharmaceutical hubs. The comprehensive plan includes facilities in Kano, Anambra, and Lagos, designed to enhance pharmaceutical distribution, research capabilities, and quality assurance on a national scale.
NAIP (搜索) National Chairman, Pharm. (Sir) Bankole Aminu Ezebuilo, emphasized the project's forward-looking approach during the ceremony. "It is heartwarming that NAIP is laying the foundation for this landmark centre in Anambra. We deeply appreciate the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, for generously providing the land at no cost," Ezebuilo stated.

The groundbreaking ceremony drew significant participation from pharmaceutical industry leaders and government officials. Chief (Dr.) U.N.O. Uwaga, a past President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (搜索) (PSN (搜索)), presided over the ceremony, while His Royal Majesty, Igwe Ezechuamagha I of Ogidi Kingdom, served as Guest of Honour.
Former PSN (搜索) President Pharm. (Sir) Azubuike Okwor highlighted Anambra's leadership position in pharmaceutical innovation. "Anambra has always been a pacesetter in the field of pharmacy, particularly in the South East. I'm proud that we are taking yet another bold step in pharmaceutical development," he remarked.
Pharm. Olumide Akintayo, also a former PSN (搜索) President, expressed confidence in the project's success based on NAIP (搜索)'s previous achievements. "Given what NAIP has achieved in Kano, I have no doubt that this facility in Anambra will surpass expectations, especially under the leadership of a visionary like Ezebuilo," he said.
