The funding will enable NeuraWorx to scale its team in neuroscience, clinical development, and regulatory affairs to accelerate clinical and regulatory programs.
NeuraWorx Medical Technology (搜索), a clinical-stage neurotechnology company, has successfully closed an oversubscribed seed funding round led by Nexus NeuroTech Ventures (搜索). The round included participation from Foothill Ventures, Verge HealthTech Fund, Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (搜索) (WARF), and other leading neurotech investors to advance the company's first-in-class bioelectronic solutions for brain health.
The Excelsior, Minnesota-based company is developing the Cerebrovascular Pacing System (搜索)™, a proprietary platform designed to enhance brain fluid dynamics for the treatment of central nervous system disorders (搜索). The technology originally emerged from research conducted at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Targeting Underexplored Brain Health Mechanisms
NeuraWorx is addressing cerebrovascular and glymphatic dysfunction, which is increasingly implicated in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases (搜索). According to John Propst, PhD, MBA, Principal at Nexus NeuroTech Ventures (搜索), this represents "a foundational and underexplored mechanism in brain health."
"What differentiated this opportunity for Nexus was the strength of the underlying physiology, the clarity of the mechanistic hypothesis, and a robust chain of preclinical and emerging clinical evidence supporting translatability," Propst explained. "The company's development strategy is anchored in objective biomarkers and clinically meaningful endpoints, and we are excited to support the team as they advance a rigorous clinical and regulatory program to translate this platform into durable benefit for patients."
Strategic Development and Team Expansion
The funding will enable immediate scaling of the company's team to attract world-class talent in neuroscience, clinical development, and regulatory affairs. Chris Minar, CEO and Co-Founder of NeuraWorx, emphasized the validation this funding provides for the company's scientific approach.
"This funding validates our science and accelerates our mission to transform brain health for everyone," Minar stated. "We are grateful for Nexus NeuroTech's strategic partnership and the confidence of our entire investor syndicate. With this capital, we are immediately scaling our team to attract world-class talent in neuroscience, clinical development, and regulatory affairs—people who share our vision of bringing the first-in-class Cerebrovascular Pacing System (搜索)™ to patients as quickly and safely as possible."
Bioelectronic Platform for Brain Fluid Dynamics
NeuraWorx is pioneering bioelectronic solutions to restore cerebrovascular and glymphatic function (搜索) through its proprietary Cerebrovascular Pacing System (搜索)™. The platform is designed to enhance brain fluid dynamics, targeting the underlying mechanisms that contribute to various central nervous system disorders (搜索).
The company's approach focuses on addressing dysfunction in the brain's fluid clearance systems, which play crucial roles in maintaining brain health and are increasingly recognized as contributing factors in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric conditions.
