Novartis has announced positive preliminary results from the Phase III Remodel-1 and Remodel-2 studies of remibrutinib in relapsing multiple sclerosis (搜索). Remibrutinib is described as a potent and highly selective oral inhibitor of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (搜索) (BTK).
According to the company, the trials demonstrated efficacy in reducing relapses and disease activity, with favourable signals on disability progression, alongside a favourable safety profile and good tolerability.
Commenting on the data, Massimo Filippi, professor of neurology at Universita Vita e Salute and director of the neurology unit at IRCCS San Raffaele in Milan, said the availability of new high-efficacy oral options could expand the ability to personalise treatment according to the clinical profile and needs of each person with multiple sclerosis.
