"There are no exclusivity provisions for NPM-139, or Vivani's proprietary NanoPortal technology associated with this agreement," the company stated, preserving Vivani's flexibility to pursue additional partnerships.

Vivani expects to initiate a Phase 1, randomized, first-in-human study in mid-2026 to evaluate the NPM-139 semaglutide implant. The trial will use Wegovy injections as an active comparator, with primary objectives focused on characterizing the safety, pharmacokinetics, and tolerability of the implant. Successful completion of this study would support the initiation of a Phase 2 dose-ranging study.
