The EDOF technology (搜索) addresses a fundamental challenge in endoscopic imaging by creating continuously sharp images across varying depths. The system uses two prisms to split light entering the endoscope lens into separate beams with near- and far-focused images. These beams are then projected simultaneously onto an image sensor, combining them into a single image with an extended depth of field.
This technological advancement allows physicians to obtain sharp images while keeping entire lesions in focus, potentially aiding in detection as endoscopists inspect the mucosal lining of the gastrointestinal tract. Compared to previous generation Olympus scopes, the EDOF technology (搜索) provides improved visibility and reduced blurring.
Enhanced Performance Specifications
The EZ1500 series demonstrates measurable improvements over previous endoscope generations. When connected to the EVIS X1 CV-1500 video system center, the new endoscopes are compatible with multiple advanced imaging technologies. These include Texture and Color Enhancement Imaging (TXI), designed to increase visibility of lesions and polyps by enhancing image color and texture, and Red Dichromatic Imaging (RDI), which enhances visibility of deep blood vessels and bleeding points.
The system also supports Narrow Band Imaging (NBI) technology, which enhances visual observation of mucosal and vascular patterns by utilizing specific blue and green wavelengths absorbed by hemoglobin. Additionally, Brightness Adjustment Imaging with Maintenance of Contrast (BAI-MAC) technology corrects brightness levels in dark areas while maintaining lighter area brightness to increase total distance view.
