The Menlo Park, California-based company described the $250 million as aggregate new equity capital from its two most recent financing rounds. Additionally, Orca Bio (搜索) amended its Silicon Valley Bank (搜索) credit facility in 2025, providing access to up to $100 million in additional liquidity, bringing the company's total recent funding capacity to $350 million.
Commercial Readiness and Manufacturing Expansion
The proceeds will be directed toward ensuring commercial readiness as Orca Bio (搜索) approaches its critical FDA decision date for Orca-T, an investigational allogeneic T-cell immunotherapy. The funding will support scaling commercial operations and strengthening infrastructure for future commercial supply, including the addition of East Coast manufacturing capacity to complement the company's existing Sacramento, California operations.

Pipeline Advancement in Reduced Intensity Settings
Beyond commercialization preparation, Orca Bio (搜索) is advancing its pipeline of high-precision cell therapies through new and expanded clinical programs. The company is evaluating both Orca-T and its second-generation candidate Orca-Q in reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) and nonmyeloablative (NMA) settings, targeting patients who may not be candidates for traditional myeloablative conditioning (MAC) regimens.
The company highlighted two studies currently enrolling patients: SERENE-T, a multicenter open-label Phase 2 trial evaluating Orca-T in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (搜索) and myelodysplastic syndromes (搜索) undergoing reduced-intensity or nonmyeloablative conditioning; and an expanded Phase 1b study of Orca-Q that includes additional cohorts spanning multiple donor types and conditioning approaches in patients with acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, or mixed phenotype acute leukemia (搜索).
According to the company, the Orca-Q study has already treated its first patients in the expansion phase, and both trials are expected to open at additional U.S. centers.
Addressing Broader Patient Populations
The clinical strategy addresses a significant unmet need in blood cancer treatment. "While myeloablative conditioning offers the best chance to eradicate disease with a traditional allogeneic stem cell transplant, the high toxicity levels carry significant risks, particularly for older patients or those with co-morbidities," the company explained. "Less intensive conditioning regimens are safer for patients who are not candidates for myeloablative conditioning."
Orca Bio (搜索)'s manufacturing platform utilizes what the company describes as "single-cell precision" to create cell therapy products designed to replace a patient's diseased blood and immune system with a healthy one, targeting both blood cancers (搜索) and autoimmune diseases (搜索).
Fernhoff emphasized the broader implications of the funding milestone: "This milestone not only solidifies our anticipated commercial launch but also provides the runway to advance our promising pipeline as we seek to redefine treatment across multiple life-threatening blood cancer and autoimmune diseases (搜索)."
