OutSee (搜索), a Cambridge-based genomics and drug discovery company, has completed an oversubscribed £2.5M seed funding round while simultaneously establishing a strategic partnership with o2h discovery (搜索) to advance its AI-powered drug target discovery platform. The dual announcement positions the company to transition from target identification to active drug development using its proprietary Nomaly (搜索) platform.
Funding Round and Strategic Partnership
The seed funding round was led by Ahren Innovation Capital (搜索), with participation from Kadmos Capital (搜索), Panacea (搜索), Empirical Ventures (搜索), and 26 independent angel investors. The first close was initially announced in June 2025, with the round now completing at £2.5M in January 2026.
Concurrently, OutSee (搜索) signed a strategic agreement with o2h discovery (搜索), a preclinical Contract Research Organisation with an integrated drug discovery platform. The partnership aims to launch a collaborative drug discovery programme for OutSee's lead target candidate, which was identified through the company's genomic target discovery and precision medicine platform, Nomaly (搜索).
Funding and support for the partnership has been provided through o2h's co-discovery InflexionTx, a match funding model at the HIT ID Phase covering critical proof of concept studies. This model aims to unlock novel high value ideas and assets by integrating OutSee (搜索)'s deep computational biology expertise to build a library of drug candidates for the lead target ahead of future therapeutic development.
Nomaly Platform Technology
The Nomaly (搜索) platform adopts a unique "genomics first" approach to target identification, distinguishing it from conventional drug discovery methods. The platform draws on an AI-powered engine that uses hypothesis-free, predictive modelling to generate conclusions from the fundamental molecular and cellular biology of the genome.
This approach enables Nomaly (搜索) to predict disease and phenotype ab initio directly from a single genome. The technology is complementary to existing target discovery pipelines, uncovering underlying biological mechanisms that drive and modulate disease. Notably, the platform is applicable to small datasets or those that have already been analysed by conventional methods.
Company Expansion and Future Plans
Since the first close of funding in June 2025, OutSee (搜索) has significantly expanded its in-house discovery programme, harnessing its proprietary Nomaly (搜索) platform to identify a portfolio of data-backed therapeutic targets. The completed funding will enable the company to advance these targets through experimental validation and generate a strong internal pipeline of assets.
Additionally, the funding supports ongoing R&D of the Nomaly (搜索) platform to enhance the core technology and facilitate the transition from validation to active value generation.
