Physiomics (搜索) plc has secured a significant new contract with GARDP Foundation (搜索) to optimize clinical trial design for antibiotic development, marking the company's strategic expansion into infectious disease therapeutics. The mathematical modelling and biostatistics company will provide expert consultancy support to optimize the design of an efficacy trial in GARDP's Serious Bacterial Infections (搜索) programme.
GARDP Foundation (搜索) is a not-for-profit research and development organisation that addresses global public health needs by developing new or improved antibiotic treatments while endeavouring to ensure sustainable access. The collaboration represents Physiomics (搜索)' entry into a critical therapeutic area addressing antimicrobial resistance challenges.
Strategic Expansion in Biometrics Services
The project, expected to begin in January 2026 and complete within three months, represents an important development for Physiomics (搜索)' biometrics department. This marks the company's second major client in the biometrics space and their third contract since launching the new service line earlier in 2025.
"We're delighted to start our new partnership with GARDP through this project," said Jesse Thissen, Head of Biometrics at Physiomics (搜索). "Utilising our expertise in study design to support clinical development planning aligns perfectly with our mission to help clients make faster, more informed decisions that can help de-risk development and improve outcomes."
The work will leverage both internal expertise at Physiomics (搜索) and their network of consultants to provide strategic partnership support for GARDP's clinical development plans through optimized design approaches.
Exceeding Growth Projections
Dr Peter Sargent, CEO of Physiomics (搜索), emphasized the significance of this contract award for the organization's growth trajectory. "This contract award represents a significant milestone for our organisation. Securing our third Biometrics contract since launching the new service line earlier this summer has surpassed our initial projections and underscores the promising contribution this service can make to the Company's growth objectives."
The expansion into infectious disease therapeutics has been a target area for Physiomics (搜索), complementing their established expertise across discovery, pre-clinical and clinical studies. Through cutting-edge computational tools, bespoke models and their proprietary Virtual Tumour technology, the Physiomics team has informed the development of over 100 commercial projects, with over 125 targets and drugs modelled.
Established Client Portfolio
Physiomics (搜索)' client base includes major pharmaceutical companies such as Merck KGaA, Astellas, Bicycle Therapeutics, Numab Therapeutics (搜索), and CRUK. The company combines expertise across Modelling & Simulation, Biostatistics, Data Science and Bioinformatics with deep biology expertise to help biotech and pharma companies streamline their drug development journeys.
The approach focuses on deriving insight from relevant and often disparate data to de-risk decision making and optimize research design across the drug development spectrum. This latest contract with GARDP Foundation (搜索) demonstrates the growing recognition of mathematical modelling and biostatistics expertise in addressing complex clinical development challenges in critical therapeutic areas.
