Pixelgen Technologies (搜索), a Stockholm-based life sciences company, has closed an oversubscribed €13.26 million ($15.5 million) Series B funding round led by new investor Flat Capital (搜索), with continued participation from existing investors Industrifonden (搜索) and Navigare Ventures (搜索). The financing will support continued technology development and global commercial expansion of the company's platform for mapping the spatial organization of proteins on the surface of single cells.
Flat Capital (搜索) AB (publ) is investing approximately SEK 40 million in Pixelgen and is leading the company's Series B round of approximately SEK 150 million, together with existing and new investors. Alongside the financing, Pixelgen is adding Flat Capital CEO Rickard El Tarzi and life sciences veteran Ramon Felciano, Ph.D., to its board of directors.

A Novel Approach to Cellular Architecture
Pixelgen's technology enables researchers to study the spatial organization of proteins — the molecular machinery required to carry out cellular functions — in a new way, in which many proteins can be studied simultaneously, across many cells, and at high resolution. The company states that its Proxiome Kit is the first platform to enable high-throughput mapping of molecular cell architecture at nanoscale resolution.
While conventional proteomic approaches primarily measure protein abundance, the Proxiome Kit reveals how proteins are organized, clustered, and localized on the surface of individual cells. Powered by the patented Proximity Network Assay, the kit enables high-dimensional analysis of cell surface architecture in single cells, helping researchers move beyond abundance measurements to capture the architectural features of cell state, disease, and treatment response.
Company Origins and Commercial Trajectory
Pixelgen was founded in 2020 in Stockholm by Simon Fredriksson, Alvaro Martinez Barrio, Ph.D., Fredrik Dahl, Ph.D., and Filip Karlsson. The company is led by CEO and co-founder Simon Fredriksson, previously a co-founder of Olink AB (搜索).
