(NYSE: RVTY) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Human Cell Design (搜索) (HCD), a France-based biotechnology company specializing in human cell models and preclinical research solutions for diabetes (搜索), obesity (搜索) and other metabolic diseases. The acquisition is expected to add HCD's human pancreatic beta cell models to Revvity's Life Sciences portfolio, supporting drug discovery, screening and preclinical research, including applications in GLP-1 (搜索) and other metabolic disease therapies.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 and is subject to customary closing conditions, including required regulatory approvals. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
EndoC-βH5 and the NatLine Platform
HCD's flagship EndoC-βH5 (搜索) human pancreatic beta cell model is designed to provide researchers with a human-relevant model for studying beta cell physiology and function across diabetes (搜索) and obesity (搜索) research. HCD also offers specialized media and reagents, preclinical research services, and its proprietary NatLine cell-line development platform, which supports the development of functionally consistent human cell models.

Integration With Detection and Screening Assays
The combination aligns with Revvity (搜索)'s portfolio of detection and cell analysis technologies. According to the companies, EndoC-βH5 (搜索) cells are well-suited for use with Revvity's HTRF™ and AlphaLISA™ assays for measuring key pharmacological readouts such as cAMP and insulin, as well as pHSense™ technology for receptor internalization studies. The combination also extends to Revvity's ATPlite™ assays for cell viability and proliferation analysis.
These detection and analysis capabilities are expected to extend to Revvity (搜索)'s high-content screening platform and to increasingly sophisticated approaches for interpreting complex cellular data. As wet-lab validation becomes increasingly important to support AI-enhanced science, human-relevant cell models provide a foundation for testing and confirming AI-generated insights, the companies said.
Beyond Early-Stage Discovery
HCD's technology also has applications beyond early-stage discovery, including research supporting regenerative medicine approaches for Type 1 diabetes (搜索) and quality control activities as cell-based therapies progress toward commercialization. Upon completion of the acquisition, the combined solutions are expected to create an opportunity to support customers across multiple stages of therapeutic research and development.
The acquisition is intended to strengthen Revvity (搜索)'s position in human-relevant life sciences tools for next-generation GLP-1 (搜索) and GPCR (搜索)-targeting therapies for metabolic drug discovery, and to expand its ability to support customers across the research-to-clinic continuum, including emerging applications in clinical development and regenerative medicine.

According to data provided by Grand View Research, the global cell analysis market is estimated to be valued at $37.3 billion in 2026 and is expected to witness a compound annual growth rate of 11.7% through 2033. Factors cited as supporting market growth include the growing number of drug discovery activities, increasing prevalence of chronic diseases, rising pharmaceutical and biotechnology R&D investments and advancements in cell analysis technologies. The increasing adoption of high-content screening, single-cell analysis and advanced cellular profiling is also expected to drive demand for sophisticated cell-based research tools.
Revvity (搜索) reported 2025 revenue of $2.9 billion and approximately 11,000 employees, serving customers across pharmaceutical and biotech, diagnostic labs, academia and governments in more than 160 countries. The company is part of the S&P 500 index. Following the announcement, RVTY stock lost 2.3%; year to date, the stock has gained 25% compared with the industry's 1.5% growth and the S&P 500's 10.3% rise. Revvity currently has a market capitalization of $13.82 billion.
Separately, Revvity (搜索) launched the SuperFlex prenatal screening system last month, a compact, CE-IVDR-certified automated immunoassay instrument designed to expand access to prenatal and preeclampsia testing. Purpose-built for small to mid-sized laboratories and clinics, the platform is intended to bring reliable, rapid in-house screening capabilities to lower-volume testing environments. SuperFlex will initially be available in markets accepting CE-marked instruments, with expansion into Asia-Pacific planned for late 2026.
