The newly cleared Curved PediGuard (搜索) model incorporates an asymmetrical sensor that provides surgeons with directional information, enabling detection of cortical bony walls and allowing redirection to avoid breaches. According to Stéphane Bette, Deputy CEO and cofounder of SpineGuard (搜索), this feature proves "particularly useful in scoliosis (搜索) treatment where the vertebral anatomy can be complex and deformed."
The XS models feature miniaturized sensors specifically designed for pediatric surgery and cervical spine procedures, where anatomical structures are smaller and require enhanced precision. These models address the need for specialized instrumentation in delicate surgical environments.
Market Expansion and Commercial Impact
Both PediGuard (搜索) models have demonstrated commercial success in Europe and the United States but were previously unavailable in China. The designation change obtained for SpineGuard (搜索)'s entire product range is expected to facilitate hospital registration and purchase processes within the Chinese healthcare system.
Bette stated that "this approval should have a positive impact on our 2026 revenue, once we have launched these new products on the Chinese market, trained our sales force and surgeons, and obtained their listing in hospitals."
