Thermo Fisher Scientific (搜索) Inc. has announced a strategic collaboration with Precision Health Research, Singapore (PRECISE (搜索)) to advance the PRECISE-SG100K study, marking a significant milestone in population-scale proteomics research. The partnership represents one of the region's most ambitious biobank initiatives, encompassing approximately 100,000 Singapore residents in a comprehensive multi-omic health study.
Integrated Proteomics Platform Strategy
Under the collaboration, Thermo Fisher will deploy an integrated proteomics strategy combining its Olink Proximity Extension Assay (PEA) platforms with the high-resolution Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometry system. These technologies will work alongside Seer's Proteograph Product Suite to deliver scalable, high-sensitivity protein measurement capabilities with deep, unbiased discovery proteomics.

Seer's Deep Proteomics Contribution
Seer, Inc. has been selected to provide deep, unbiased proteomic analysis on 10,000 participants from PRECISE (搜索)-SG100K using its Proteograph Product Suite. This mass spectrometry-based proteomic workflow will deeply profile the plasma proteome (搜索), with data combined from Thermo Fisher Scientific (搜索)'s Olink Reveal and Thermo Scientific Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometers on the same sample set.
The Proteograph-Astral combination has demonstrated high-throughput, deep proteome coverage in large population studies, providing thousands of quantified proteins with peptide-level resolution. This approach strengthens mass spectrometry-based proteomics' ability to validate and extend signals detected by affinity-based platforms.
Multi-Ancestry Population Focus
PRECISE (搜索)-SG100K is designed to integrate genomic, proteomic, and other health data across a deeply phenotyped, multi-ancestry Asian population. The study has successfully completed its recruitment phase, engaging over 100,000 participants from Singapore's diverse, multi-ethnic population.

Global Biobank Experience
Thermo Fisher brings extensive experience supporting biobank infrastructure development and large-scale proteomics and genomics initiatives globally. The company is currently involved in some of the largest biobank efforts to date, including the UK Biobank Pharma Proteomics Project, FinnGen in Finland, and the Geisinger's MyCode Community Health Initiative in the United States. Collectively, these programs encompass analyses of more than one million samples.
Research Applications and Future Impact
Proteomics data generated with the Proteograph in population-scale cohorts like PRECISE (搜索)-SG100K are expected to support biomarker discovery across cardiometabolic, ophthalmic, neurologic and other complex diseases. The research will advance drug target biology, inform predictive models for disease risk and response in underrepresented populations, and provide an orthogonal framework for validating and prioritizing markers identified through affinity-based platforms.
