The partnership, announced at HIMSS26, aims to provide life sciences and government customers with advanced health analytics combined with consumer-grade wearable data.
Integration of Wearable Technology and Clinical Research Platform
Through this collaboration, Verily will fully integrate sensor data from Samsung Galaxy Watch and make it accessible through its Viewpoint Evidence solution, which is built on the Verily Pre platform. The integrated system will enable research sponsors to conduct real-world studies with re-contactable participant cohorts, utilizing Verily Pre data solutions including Refinery for data harmonization and Workbench for analysis, modeling and activation.
Samsung's Galaxy Watch has been verified across multiple health measures including heart rate, blood oxygen, and body composition. The device has received FDA clearance for features including moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea (搜索) assessment and irregular heart rhythm notification, establishing it as a robust research tool for clinical applications.

The collaboration will provide research customers with three key capabilities. First, exclusive longitudinal dataset access will give sponsors access to Verily's rich dataset of consented participants, combining Samsung sensor data, medical records, surveys, and other third-party data harmonized at the individual level for advanced insights.
Second, custom research capabilities will allow sponsors to run their own studies using Verily's registry population, leveraging full longitudinal data to explore sleep, activity, and health outcomes while taking action at the individual level. Third, integrated participant engagement will enable Verily to recruit and engage Samsung users for research participation, driving consistent use and high-quality data capture while enabling meaningful research and health insights.
AI-Powered Analytics and Digital Health Measures
Verily will provide AI/ML based analytics and digital measure expertise, paired with comprehensive clinical trial support across regulatory, development, operations, and compliance. Scott Burke, Chief Technology Officer at Verily, emphasized the significance of consumer-friendly devices in clinical research.

The partnership builds on Verily's established track record in designing and verifying digital measures across various therapeutic areas, including Cardiometabolic, CNS, and Respiratory diseases. The company has developed advanced AI algorithms for Parkinson's disease (搜索) that established state-of-the-art accuracy, reliability, and safety standards, with findings published in NPJ Digital Medicine, Nature Portfolio's Science Reports, and JMIR Research Protocols.
